How Often Do We Blindly Read Scripture?

How often do we blindly read through scripture? It can be very easy to lose sight of the central message of the Bible and become filled with "empty knowledge" that does not aid our spiritual life or relationship with God. Again, we are reminded of Jesus' role in scripture and what God wants us to get out of the study of His word.
